All the people running around in ninja masks are annoying enough. No more please.

this thread really needs to be taken seriously... hats are, atm, completely and uderly worthless. no one ever uses them except on festivals, and even then, its obviously only in main towns when they are waiting to get the next hat which no one will ever see til the next festival. i used to collect every festival hat, but now i don't see the pt. i will NEVER use them(unless i get extremely bored and don't care about p/oing teammates).
this idea of making festival hats actually practical and usable would allow much more style, diversity and somewhat freshness with, seemingly much less effort than anything else.
some ppl say that turning them into "useful" items would trivialize them. but hey. NO ONE EVER SEES OR USES THEM ANYWAYS!

/signed except for the dye part. It wouldn't look natural and plus why should we dye them? It's better to keep the original color of the hats like they've always been. If that's not enough imagine this, would you like to see a blue Zombie Face mask? I know you said some can be dyed and some can't, but really it seems all of them shouldn't be dyed for reasons that involve their original look. Hope I explained enough for you.

Just because I already have, and because it's been rezed: /signed
Also: Owik - I think for the dye comment, it was meant that those that can be dyed now will stay dyable, those that cannot be dyed, will not. Afterall, as you said, some masks don't make sense dyed. Although for the Zombie Face Paint, just dying teeth or eyes would be cool. Red teeth and eyes ftw? :P

This is the best idea ever presented on Guru, and Anet should really add this one in. Would make so many customers happy and anxious to buy GW2.
Yes, I'm exaggerating, but I would love to wear some of the masks as armor, and would do so all the time if I could. With the items from GW:EN allowing attributes to be adjusted so easily, they could easily do this. The skins are in the game, they would only need to spend time coding the NPC to do it.

As much as I love this idea I'm a bit mixed on how this would turn out if implemented. No doubt TONS of people would be running around with their new armored hats. If anything I think Anet is hesitant to implement this because it could distract from the seriousness of the game's atmosphere - just imagine a MAT final consisting of 16 people with ridiculous headgear, it makes it hard for outside gamers to take Guild Wars seriously.
So as much as I'd love to wear my Tengu Mask everywhere I go....
/notsigned for the sake of Guild Wars!

Send an email to Anet with a link to this thread. Maybe that will get their attention.

Of course many masks are a bit flashy, but there are some pieces of normal headgear that are worst than any mask, just look at the Bandana and the Ritualist Obsidian headgear.
Having those around are worse than what could it be having Lion Masks around.
Common headgear was instrduced with Eye of the North, and some of the festival headgear look quite nice and would look good with some armors.
Then people would be the one choosing the ones they like and mask won't be just to show to the Hat maker and never use again.

Seriously, what do we care if someone wants to run around in a holiday mask all year round? Why would anyone even object to this? Just because one person wants to, doesnt mean that everyone HAS to. The arguements against this are just lame. People will look silly...who cares. New players wont take the game seriously....who cares. Maybe some new players will think this looks cool and after all, its A GAME people, its meant to be fun! Its not real war. So lighten up.

maybe have profession holidays? offer a specific armor per profession that can only be gotten on that day and never replicated through a hat trader or such. or maybe a weapon that is instantly customized. something that would impress future generations of guildwars incomers.
